I Believe I Can Fly...

The other day we decided that the weather was nice enought to finally go out to the park.  Koby was really excited and sang to himself the entire way there, "We're going to the park.  We're going to the park.  We're going to the park."  Inside I think I was singing too.  I love the spring/summertime.  Life is just so much better when it's warm and there is no snow on the ground.  Why do you think the birds sing during the summertime?  It's because winter sucks and it's too depressing to sing...

Anyway, Koby had a blast at the park.  We played on the slides, in the tunnels, and even played a little basketball.  Everytime Koby made a shot he would yell, "I did it!"  When I would miss, he would go get the ball, give it back to me and say, "Try again Dad."

After all that, Koby wanted to go on the swings, my personal favortie.  What's not to love about swings?  It's like controlled, restricted flying... so much fun.  Anyway, Koby likes it when I jump off the swings.  It cracks him up everytime.  I asked Megan to take a picture of me so we could show Koby.  She did so reluctantly.  When she showed me the picture she said, "Doesn't that make you feel cool?"  I responded "No.  I did it for Koby, he will like looking at it," but in reality it did make me feel a little cool.

My feelings of jumping off an elementary playground swing and flying through the air can only be described by the immortal words of recording artist Seal, "I believe I can fly.  I believe I can touch the sky.  I think about it every night and day, spread my wings and fly away..."

On a separate note, I got my motorcycle license a couple weeks ago, so I have been commuting to work on my bike.  It's been fun.  Driving a car is so boring now.  Plus it's nice that filling up only coasts $11.72 instead of $58.24.  I have wanted to take Megan out on a ride, but due to the whole pregnancy belly thing, I haven't been able to.  A little disappointing, but at least Koby has been able to take a girl for a ride on his bike.

That's my boy!

you reminded me of Randy in this post. Ok just the part about koby taking a girl on his bike. Loved the whole post though, you're so funny! And that picture is super cool. Koby should be proud.

I always twisted my ankle when I landed those jumps! You need to teach me your skills, James.

Can't wait to see you guys again!

I have never been a risk-taker, but I DO loves swings and jumping off, sailing through the air. It's a rush. I think Koby already thinks his Dad is cool. Love the shot with a girl on his bike too.
