Disneyland

September 2014:

We are so blessed to have Disneyland passes this year! We live about 45 minutes away from the magical place and have been there a lot in the past 5 months.

Driving to Disneyland for the first time!

It's a Small World is always a favorite.

This is always what the ride home looks like, haha...

Kai's first time to Disneyland

Linc was so happy to meet Lightening McQueen!

One time we went with the Taylor's. Carolyn and I decided it would be a good idea to take our kids on the Tower of Terror. During the ride (see picture...) Koby didn't know if he should be scared or excited. After the ride he claimed it was his favorite ride ever! Kennedy and Tatum were a little scared. We may have scarred Tatum for a few years.

James took Kennedy and Koby to Disneyland one morning to ride all the big rides that the little ones aren't tall enough for.
We love Disneyland!

Baby Isla

September also brought us a new little neice! We were so excited to meet Dave and Lisa's sweet baby girl. We have been loving living by our new cousin/niece. She is a happy baby and so beautiful, just like her mom!

Meet Isla...

We sure love her.

Linc's Big Month

September was a big month for Linc. He started "school" too! We started out doing joyschool with some ladies in another ward. However, both Linc and I didn't enjoy it. The group dynamics were just not working for us. About a month in we decided to switch to a "playgroup preschool" with 8 other kids in our complex.

There are 8 boys and 1 girl in our group, including Linc. It is cray but oh so fun! Linc has made so many new friends and so have I. Each week the kids learn a new letter and a new color/shape/letter.  And after preschool is done we all head down to the nearest park in the complex for lunch and play. IT is just the right amount of learning and playing for this little three year old.

Like I said, September was a big month for Linc. He started school, met tons of new friends, started eating new foods, adjusted to a new surrounding, became completely potty-trained, and he lost his first tooth! Haha. I guess when you have three boys it just happens. Earlier this summer Linc bumped heads on Grandma and Grandpa's trampoline...two months later his tooth finally decided it just wasn't going to stay.

Koby was pretty excited that Linc lost a tooth and even wrote the tooth fairy a letter to go along with the tooth.

James also started school in September! Our long wait finally ended. James loves school and I am so happy that he gets to do something he loves. I even took a picture to commemorate the special day...

Here he is on a hike, "networking" of course. haha.
September was a big month for these two!

Wrapping up August

The second day we were here we met some amazing friends, the Taylor's. They are here for two years just like us.  Their names are Levi, and Carolyn; they have three kids-Kennedy, who is Koby's age, Tatum who is a year older than Linc, and Benson, who is right in between Linc and Kai's ages.  The Taylor's became like family to us right away. Here is a picture of Kennedy, Koby, and Linc...

Having girlfriends means lots of dress up, haha...

Since that first week we have met so many incredible friends. I love the student life. It is never lonely. Husbands may have some long hours, but we wives are never lonely. The UCLA apartments are the best. There are parks sprinkled throughout the complexes. And there are always friends at the park. We even have walking buddies, Daiane Nielsen and Carolyn Taylor walk to and from school with us everyday. We each have 2-3 kids too so we sure are a site walking in such a big, chaotic group. Haha. We love our friends.

We are in heaven down here with James' sister Lisa and Dave living just twenty minutes away too. How lucky are we?! We just love being able to have sushi nights with them...

And we recently (end of Summer) found out that our stubborn little eater (Linc) loves seaweed! That is definitely something to be happy about!

Sushi rollin.

We even taught dave how to make some rolls.

Costco has these great seaweed packages that we love! Yay for so much Asian food down here.

These two love the beach.

And so do we.

Kai feet

The sound of the ocean always puts baby Kai to sleep. It sounds just like his noise machine.
I need to take pictures of our little apartment. I found these three on the computer when I was doing this blog. This is James and my bedroom, located to the right of the living room. Our apartment is bright and happy feeling. It is small but I do not mind that at all. We think of this place as our beach house! And it sure is great to have friends all around us.
