That's right. Koby started walking this week! Just in time for Christmas...now we get to spend the holidays chasing him away from Grandma and Grandpa's tree:) and the fridge...
I'm pretty sure this lawnmower he got from Grandma and Grandpa Huntington did the trick. The handle drops when he lets go, so he had to focus on balancing.
Last night after Koby went to bed, we built Gingerbread houses. Now it really feels like Christmas.
Megan's has the Cheerio roof and James' has the sweet chimney with smoke:)

Wrappin up November
November 21st, Rachel and Sean got married! So the family came to Utah for a visit. Rach looked gorgeous in her dress and we are so excited to have another brother in the family! It was lots of fun to spend a few days with everyone:) Shan, her boys, and my dad stayed for a longer visit. It was fun to spend time with them. I wish we lived closer...
After they left we headed to California for Thanksgiving with the Huntington family! After accidently missing an exit with the last gas station for miles... we ran out of gas. Lets just say Emily and I guarded the freezing car while James got a 7 mile run in across Nevada at midnight. Haha. Nice preparation for Thanksgiving:) So James' cousin Melissa made the best cheesecake ever for Thanksgiving. If you ever watch FRIENDS, there is an episode where Rachel and Chandler eat Cheesecake off the hallway floor of their apartment building...This cheesecake was that good. Lets just say if it fell on the floor...
And now we're back to reality.
For my records...here are some of Koby's accomplishments...
Words he can say:
- (8 mos.) "Ball", "Dada", "Mama", "Wow", No-no(Just shakes his head side to side)
- (9 mos.) "Booook", "Baby", "Oh", "Up","Oo-ah-ah-ee"(Monkey sound), "Puu Puu"(This is his attempt to say pumpkin), "Grampa"(Thanks to the recent visit from my dad and then our trip to CA)
- (10 mos.) "Duck"
I love this age -where he is learning everything. He knows most all words you teach him a few times. This weeks he learned, Christmas lights and Christmas tree. He can tell the difference and points to each when asked. Its funny how smart babies get so fast.
Today while James was at work I asked Koby, "Where's Daddy?" he looks around the room and then waves Bye-Bye. Then he points to a collage of pictures on the wall. I took him closer and he pointed at James. Then I said, "Where's Koby?" and he points at his picture, and the same for "Mama". Smart kid. They grow up so fast:( Oh and I just noticed his top 2 teeth are poking through - it explains all the drool last month.
The Mud Room
k so we had this random room/area that some would call a mud room? We werent using it for anything so I finally decided to turn it into a play area. It work GREAT. No more toys all over the living room. I shoved a blanket under the cold storage door so no balls or cars would go under and I found one of those driving rugs on KSL and bought it for 15 bucks... a steal of a deal considering they are 50 bucks new! Koby doesn't know how to fully appreciate it yet, but his face lights up when he sees it and he and I play cars on it:). It is a work in progress, but its a nice toy room for now.
Oh and can you spy our Christmas tree? We are going to WA for Christmas so this will do. haha.

Happy Birthday James
James is 25! So this is how the day began....
Preface: I keep a CLEAN CLEAN house. We live in a nice home...
So Koby needed a bath on Saturday morning. I go in to start the water and their are little teal/black rice-looking things all over the tub. So James turned the water on and guess what came crawling out of the drain. A MOUSE! sick sick sick! So James caught it in a tupperware and drowned it. We sanitized every inch of that bath tub and now I keep the drain down!
Then we went out for All-you-can-eat Sushi at james' favorite place. On the last order they brought out double what was asked for... So Emily, Steve, and James had to sit there and try eating all 75 odd pieces of sushi. haha. The guy felt bad for them after an hour and gave them a box.
Later we had a nerf gun fight with James' birthday presents (which he asked for). And James had a double-header night of soccer.
Koby had a lot of fun pulling the nerf darts off the wall and shoving them in his mouth. However he got frustrated and started crying when James was teasing him with his remote control car (again... he asked for it). I have a funny video, but its too mean to post.
The rest are random pictures, including my first time giving Koby a hair cut.

Koby's Favorite things
I know I know our blog is all about Koby, but that's what the world has begun to revolve around.
So Koby's new favorite thing is going to see the horses on our street. When they are on the other side of the pasture he will use his hands to tell them to "come here" and let out a high-pitched neeeeeigh (sounds more like a scream , but he's trying). I think the horses know him now because they sure don't mind him grabbing at their faces.Pete and Stef gave Koby some of the kids' old toys, one of which is a bouncing horse. He Looooves it.
He also loves blinds and pumpkins. And when you combine the two... he's in heaven. And of course drinking bath water.

Hardy Har Har...
...Happy Halloween!
Friday Koby had his 9 month check up. If you thought his head was big before check it out now! His stats:
Weight: 3%
Height: 5%
HEAD: 90% ...He'll do great things.
Saturday was Halloween and Grandma Huntington came for a visit! We went "Trick Or Treating" with James' cousins and their little kids. We kinda felt like cheaters so we only hit up a few neighbors in the ward. Koby was a pirate. I have been on a sewing kick ever since my mom gave me her old sewing machine to use (My friend Crystal and I are making quilts for our beds)...So I decided to sew Koby some pirate shorts. I didn't measure or take in account Koby's diaper. Needless to say they were a little snug in his nether regions. haha. And my Aunt Stef made Koby vinyl for his onsie. We topped it off with some makeup and tattoos and he was the cutest little pirate around.
James' dream of having dreads was crushed yesterday when we chopped his hair. He has a meeting on Monday and needed to look clean cut. Here are some fun pictures. The "JT look" from Step by Step is my favorite. SO HOT.
This is my quilt to-date. It should be done within the next couple weeks. I LOVE it so far!

Life as we know it...
Last Saturday James completed his 2nd St. George Marathon! Rachel, and our friends Dave, Crystal and Marci made the trip with us and ran the race too. James' cousins - Billy, Jen, and Tara ran also. We had such a fun weekend! James finished, beating his last year's time by 15 minutes! I'm not going to say anymore because James needs to post about this... BUT I am proud James put his number right-side-up this year!
Saturday night I had my first Girls Night Out since Koby was born. It was so fun! Crystal is Donny Osmond's hairdresser. Saturday night she texted him and said we were in Vegas if he had any extra tickets. After we debated on whether or not to leave the husbands and kids, we went.We had to practically run to make it on time, but I am soooo glad we went! It was an awesome show! It was my first one so I don't have much to compare it to, but it was really really good. My only regret is my mom missed out - She would have DIED! I wish she could have gone.
Here are some pictures with Donny and Marie...
Yes this is my hand, and YES Emily is that excited! haha.
Did I mention we got high fives in the middle of the show and Crystal got a hug? AND we had amazing seats? AND we got to go back stage and meet them?!
This might be too much info, but for my journaling purposes...
Koby is 8 months! And holy cow is he a fun kid! He is a jibber jabber! He says "Dadda", "Mamma", and his new one is "Woah" - The other day I was watching Ty and Koby kept hearing Ty and I saying "Woah" and now he says it all day long! I think other kids help babies advance quicker! He also shakes his head in a no motion alot. He understands the meaning of "monkey", "doggy", "where's daddy", "go get him/her", "come here", and for the most part "no"...Not sure he really cares I'm "Mamma" though, haha. BUT he does LOVE his mom!
He is a mover. I have no doubt he will be walking in a month. He is solid on his feet and walks the length of the couch-holding on. He finally realized about 2 weeks ago that his speedy, little army crawl was not as efficient as up on his knees! Crystal loaned us Ty's old walker and Koby walks all over with it. I haven't been able to get a picture, because I'm too busy rescuing him, but he does pullups on our chairs and table. He is going to be a handful! He gets a bump or a bruise on his head every day!
(Ty and Koby up to no good of course!)
I just looked back over this and realize that James is right... I use way too many exclamation points!
Also, I am light-haired again. I had fun being a Brunette, but for Rachel's wedding I went back. I did like it brown, but it feels good to be back, looking like my little Koby.

Where's Daddy?
Koby knows the word Daddy. He always looks for James when I say " Where's Daddy?" and he says dada... I don't think it is intentional yet, but I am sure it will be his first word! He looooves his daddy.
He has 1 tooth, with its neighboring tooth about to break free - I don't think I was prepared enough for life with a cranky little teether. You know my dad's friend had a baby born with his teeth. Although a little creepy... I think I might like that?
