December

I am finally feeling most of the way better with this pregnancy and now resolve to be a better blogger. I said most of the way better. I can now agree with what I have heard, with each pregnancy you get sicker and sicker; and the sickness lasts longer and longer. I will be 15 weeks on Friday and I am still nauseous! But enough of the whining! This was a couple weeks ago, a healthy baby that is looking more like a baby...

Christmas is just a week away and we are getting pretty excited over here.  It is our year to celebrate Christmas in Washington and my whole family will be there. However, James' job doesn't allow him to take the holiday off, so once again we will be here in Utah for Christmas. At first I was pretty sad, but I think I have hit that time in life when you realize your family is growing and it isn't always possible to travel, which is an ok thing.

We have really been enjoying December this year. Koby is at the funnest age for holidays. We have been making sugar cookies, making candy count downs, doing Christmas crafts, etc. Koby has really been loving drawing lately...this has made sacrament meetings at church nicer! Here are some cute animals he drew all by himself. They are his "creature powers", if you have ever seen the show "Wild Kratts".

With Grandma and Grandpa Huntington's Christmas money we bought the kids some new snow clothes and they have already been getting their money's worth out of them! Poor James is the lucky one who has been getting to accompany them outside in the freezing cold. Sometimes being pregnant isn't so bad :)

Koby was a cute little drummer boy last week in his Preschool Christmas Program. It was fun watching him perform, but of course our child is the only kid who has to get up and go to the restroom in the middle of it. haha.

Koby has been earning money by doing chores around the house. (He sure is a pretty good sweeper now). He worked for about 2 weeks and earned his money to buy Linc a present. He was so excited to wrap it and has been asking everyday if he could give it to Linc. James and I remember that our favorite part about Christmas was buying presents for our siblings. So, hopefully this tradition will help the kids develop that same love.

Lincoln has been turning into quite the little boy lately. He has been talking up a storm at home, but only for us of course. He loves to follow Koby around and tries to do whatever his big brother does. He still loves cars, but has been getting into "guys", swords, dragons, and guns...You know, just what little boys love. He especially loves football. James is proud! He sure likes babies too, so hopefully he will adapt well to being a big brother.

And last, but not least, here is a video of our little rapper Koby, just rapping about how toilet paper is made...

Babies, Halloween, the Pledge of Allegiance, and Other Stuff

We have been blog slackers... Megan has a legitimate excuse, but I sure don't...

Megan is due in June.  We are pretty excited to say the least.  Just not sure how we are going to manage three kids.  I am sure we will figure something out.  If not, we can always give away Koby or Lincoln.  Any takers?

This last month an a half have gone by really fast.  We have had a ton of fun, but it stinks that it's getting colder.  With the change in weather, we are confined to our house a bit more, so we have had to be creative.  We usually end up wrestling, playing zombies, or Nerf gun fighting (which is usually Megan and I sitting in the boy's rooms shooting at them as they run by :) )

Just doing a little dancin' in the basement.

Hanging out in the dryer.

Getting eaten by two little zombies.

Playing some music for mom :)

Here are a few videos too!

Halloween was a blast this year.  We decided against carving pumpkins... the whole knife and small children that like to pretend to be Ninja Turtles didn't seem like they would mix well.  Instead we let the kids paint their pumpkins.

Grandma Huntington sent the boys some fun Halloween activities.

We made haunted gingerbread houses.

Emily and Shane came over and went Trick-or-treating with us.

On another note, Koby has been loving preschool.  He is really excited because he just started learning how to read.  He is doing pretty awesome... must have my jeans (or Megan's because I really just spelled genes like that...).

He is learning the Pledge of Allegiance too!

He always says, "I know it's 'and justice for all' but I like to say 'August.'"

At the end of October, I had a chance to speak after a Draper City Council meeting about childhood sexual abuse.  It was a great experience, and I just wanted to thank everyone that came and supported us.

I am jumping all over the place, but I guess that is bound to happen when you don't blog for a month and a half.  So, last week, in preparation for Thanksgiving, for Family Night, we made a thankful tree.  It was pretty fun hearing about all the random things Koby is thankful for.  As for Linc, he is thankful for Lightning McQueen :)

Well, this post is officially getting out of hand, so I best wrap it up.  A couple days ago it was my birthday.  I took the day off and hung out with Megan and the boys.  It was a great day!  We went out to lunch, took naps, and ate more good food.  That night, Emily, Shane, Sherry, Cameron, and Sean came over for some cake.  It was a blast!  I couldn't have asked for more.

Koby drew some awesome pictures for me.

Me at work.

Ok, ok, now I will be done with this.  The other day, I asked Megan if she liked it when I texted her, "I love you," when I got to work with a "." or an "!"  She said she preferred a picture...  So the next day I sent her this.

September Wrap-up

My boys love Curious George, both the books and the show.  The other day Koby came into the bathroom, where I was hurrying to get ready, and asked if he could make a "puppet show" with me. I said later because I really needed to get ready. He went off and came back a few minutes later with a box..."

Mom, I went in the garage and got this box in the recycling. Can I use it?"

I said ok... A few minutes later he asked me to cut a rectangle in the box and two slits on the side. I was confused at what he was doing but said ok and did it anyways. He left. He came back again asking for tape... Then he told me to come sit and for me and Linc watch his show he made.

Look at this cute movie he made...

It was all about a kite blowing away...through the forest...up in the sky. And "it kept on blewing and blewing."

I was so impressed at the little 4 year old. I love his creative little mind at this age. To keep him entertained we have to do crafts everyday. He has really been into "bow and arrowing"(as he calls it) lately. Before I bought him a little toy bow, Koby would make bows and arrows our of Tinker-Toys. So inventive.

He keeps us busy and entertained.

Linc learned a new skill lately...

My house constantly smells like "Clean Linen". It is nice because it makes our house smell like I am always on top of the laundry; however, we have gone through a few bottles of air freshener in less than a week. Not cool Linc! But he sure has the innocent look down. Who can get too mad at that face?

Linc has been talking a lot. However, only when he feels like it. He also started to say his name a while ago... He calls himself "Winky". It's pretty funny. Especially in his deep voice.

Our garden was quite a success this year! With one tiny exception....our poor carrots. Oh well, I sure learned to follow the directions for next year.

James has eaten more tomatoes than he could count in the last month. I taught myself how to make and can salsa. I canned one batch by myself and Em came over to do a second batch with me. It was hard work, but man is it delicious! I think I will have to do it every year now.

Our eyes were watering and our throats were tingling. Dang onions and jalapenos!

Now that it's October, Koby has begun the countdown to Halloween. We've been playing a lot of dress-up lately...

September turned cold, fast.  Last week, the mountains were topped with snow. And the other day there were snow flurries in the valley!  Crazy. We are enjoying our last days outside.

Check out this tarantula we saw on our jog a few weeks ago. I sure am going to miss our family walks and runs. I guess it is officially treadmill season...Working out in the Winter just isn't as fun as working out in the Summertime!

At least I have my "personal trainers" to keep me in shape this Winter. Koby is especially good at yelling, "No resting mom! Keep going!"

And our last picture for September...

The other night we got to Skype Grandma and Grandpa DeFreese...

I'm so grateful we have modern technology so that Grandpa can tease poor Linc with an unattainable sucker, haha :)
